READ BEFORE INSTALLING!!! Trust the previous reviews explaining that the instructions are wrong. Short spacer and bolt on top. Long bolt on side. Do top bolt first (just a few turns to hold and then line up the challenging side bolt - odd angle). Once you get the side started, tighten each a few turns at a time and it walks right in. Love it!
Excellent product! Super strong and beautiful finish. Using the method described, mine installed in 20 minutes. It’s sad that I’m ordering in Feb 2020 and instructions are still wrong. Outside of that, I’d highly recommend. Not sure what the $100 grab bars from the other brand gets you, but these are thick tubular steel and rock solid. I’d happily order again.

A devout Rugged Ridge customer - I have to say that I must agree with another customer that posted. The long spacers on top and short spacers on side as stated in the directions are backwards. I did not have as long as struggle as the other customer but wasn't sure until I mocked it up. Another reviewer had a good point in stating 6mm hex drive. I used standard (all I had) knowing I could strip head at any minute. Luckily I got em in. Reason for 4 star. Very strong, well made and extremely handy getting in and out. Directions need to be corrected and 6mm hex drive tool required.

These are solid and installation feels strong. The reason it does not get 5 stars is because the instructions are wrong and what should have taken 10 minutes took 45 minutes with a lot of aggravation. The instructions clearly state to install the short bolt and spacer on the side first... WRONG! The short bolt and spacer go on top, NOT on the side, and the top should be installed FIRST. These donkey-produced instructions resulted in me losing a spacer behind the dash and having to remove parts to retrieve it. Rugged Ridge, this is basic stuff... why hasn't this been corrected?
