Reviews for XG Cargo Gama Sportsbar Storage Bags for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited 4-Door
These are very stylish and hold alot. The molle straps on the outside make extra storage a snap.
Good fit
Awesome bags that install easy and seem to be of very high quality. Great use of waisted space. Recovery gear, tools, med kit… all out of the way.
Looks like it will help with space usage
Great storage option in a otherwise unused space.
It will free up cargo space
Best price and quick delivery I am hoping
Thanks
Mount well fit great awesome build quality. Great use of space. Only reason for 4 stars, it is a bit on the expensive side.
Just installed these and am very satisfied. The pros: Lots of room, solid construction, firmly sits in place, really good and easy zipper access. Importantly, it fills otherwise wasted space, and it's easy to remove and carry should you be storing things that you want to take out and put on the camp table or whatever.
Among the most important features: They don't block vision at all (from the driver's seat, they're hidden behind the rear-seat headrests. This is really a brilliant use of space.
Cons (quibbles, really): The metal support bracket that attaches to the roll bar was slightly less than a perfect fit for my 2012 JK. It fits, but I had to wrestle it into place and force it down a bit so it didn't hit the roof, then struggle to get the nuts on the barely-long-enough screws that hold the bottom bracket in place. Am guessing various years have slightly different roll-bar configs, and this support fits 'em all. Took 10-15 minutes total to install them, using just a crescent wrench (a socket wrench would've cut that in half).
The velcro that holds the bag to the support bracket offers a slightly sloppy fit, but that's the price of soft bags that are detachable, so a worthwhile trade.
Also, the zipper comes all the way down, which is great for opening the whole inner panel so you can see everything, but stuff can roll out when you open it. I'm putting mostly mid-size things in it (compact folding chair, hammock, boots, gloves, etc.) so not a problem, and the access is really good.
One actual design flaw: A small outer zipped pouch will hold a deck of cards, and I don't play cards. Would be nice if that pouch were bigger. I can't think of any use for it, but t that doesn't detract from the bag's overall usefulness.
The bags are great quality and with the right brackets, I would probably love them. I placed my order and received it in about 10 days which was fine. But I only received 1 bracket so I emailed customer service, waited 3 days, no response -- called and waited to speak to someone. The staff was friendly and organized for me to receive the missing bracket. I was happy when I received the package in just a couple days, but was quickly disappointed when I tried to install them only to find out that they don't fit my roll bars (about 1/2 inch too narrow, and the part that closes it on the other end is too flat to go around the bar).
I revisited the product on here and realized that the brackets pictured are not the ones that I received. I sent an email with photos to customer service a week ago, when I received the brackets, and still haven't received a response. I haven't called again because I think this issue needs the photos that I attached, and I can't show someone photos over a phone call.
The other review on here says they had to wrestle the bracket in there and I'm probably going to have to force them with pliers to do the same. But pretty sure customers shouldn't have to force a product to fit because we were sent the wrong items. I didn't do this before in hopes that I could return these without damaging them. Now I'm leaving for a big trip, and I guess I'm stuck with the badly-fitting products because it's too late to fix the issue.
I could tell the bags are great quality, but this whole experience has been frustrating which is why I'm rating it this.
