Reviews for aFe Power 46-52001 BladeRunner Street Series Radiator for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Built very solid and in the USA! It is seriously a beautiful radiator, never thought I would put those two words in a sentence. Great packaging too. Jeep Dealer charged $210 plus fluid for the install. It was installed this week, therefore I cannot comment on its reliability. Dealer also said the install went fine... they did say it was a tight fit, however no issues.
I will be sure to check back if I run into issues. Fingers and toes crossed.
From the other recent reviews, there must have been a bad run - this radiator started leaking within about a month. Quadratec handled the return for me, hassle free. The radiator itself is very pretty, and when it is full, keeps the Jeep running cool, so no complaints from that standpoint. When the new one arrives (with no leaks) I expect that it will perform well.
It is a beautifully made radiator, but mine had a catastrophic leak within the first week. I emailed AFE to get a new one, but they were out of stock for over a month. As its winter I sort of need to be able to drive my Jeep, so Quadratec sent me a new one from Griffin.
The radiator gets an extra star because it comes with all the hardware necessary to install. It is a pretty tight fit, and requires trimming the plastic fan housing. It is very thick and probably is a good upgrade over stock for cooling capacity... if the coolant stayed inside.
Initially great, but ultimately a failure. A beautiful looking radiator that was a very good fit. I was thoroughly pleased with this radiator for approximately 21 months until it started leaking. Premature leaks and failures seem to be a common theme with this radiator, which is a shame. Back to the drawing board.
I got this and it failed after about 16 months. I contacted afe in the beginning of June about it. They told me they are out of stock till July. In July I reached out and they still didn't have them so they upgraded me to the 800$ one they make. It works as good at this cheaper one but the issue is it took a month for them to ship out the radiator. then It was missing the heat shields that come on the bigger radiator. So they sent me the heat shields and after another month I get them with no hardware and now afe wont answer my calls or emails asking what size hardware it takes. Long story short their radiators don't last and the company seems to be terrible at everything.
Radiator looks great. Install was easier (for me) to remove the condenser. I developed a lead 2 weeks after install. Started off small then ended up being severe. I ended up going back to an OEM style, with lifetime warranty.
radiator fits well, but sprang a leak one month into service. Also always on backorder, i went with a griffin
