Reviews for Mopar Jeep Logo Cab Cover for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK 2 Door
Fits my 2011 Sport just fine. Durable and weatherproof for the most part (water-resistant not water-proof). The strap buckles are cumbersome to take off and put on in a hurry. I sewed on some elastic hooks that work just as well but are quicker to put on and take off. Pooling of water on the top can be an issue if it sits too long (the water eventually begins to seep through). Will discolor/fade from expose to sun.
Overall I'm happy with it, it's minimal and sleek looking and protects the top and windows from rain penetration, which is the main goal. I’ve had an issue with soft tops leaking in the past and live in the Northwest where it rains a lot in the winter. So I figured I would get this as added insurance during those rainy winter months. I've only had it a few weeks but so far it's been good and gets 3 stars provided it doesn’t leak…
Why not 5 stars? One is the price. I realize MOPAR is expensive in general, but it’s simply just a thin nylon sheet, which is not expensive to manufacture, probably costs $5 to manufacture and should be priced at $50-$70. But this was the only “minimal” top I could find which matched my black Jeep.
The other reason I deducted a point was for the strap fasteners and this really bugs me… I got this thinking it would be quick to put on and take off. What I didn’t notice until it arrived was they didn’t include quick release buckles on the straps like one would think, but adjustable fasteners like one would have on backpack straps. You have to feed the strap into, around, and back out of the adjustable fastener and tighten it down, every time... This fact alone easily makes up most of the time it takes to put the cover on in the first place, undoing them is quicker but still this is such a cheap and simple oversight in my opinion. For $150+, surely they could have splurged for some buckles??? Luckily I can get a pack on Amazon for under $10, which I will. But not having this included definitely knocks off a point
Disappointed from the moment I opened the box. Someone had cut deep into the cover (it was done before it was eve placed in this box for shipping-picture was of the damaged product which I never took out of the box ultimately) and it was not usable. More Quality Assurance to allow a damaged product to go in the box to be shipped. I was able to return the product but this was a second attempt to buy a cover. I will look elsewhere for a cover.
Fitment is terrible. It does not have any elastic straps that fit around the taillights and does not cover the back of the cargo area to keep rain out. I do not recommend this top for use without a hard or soft top on the Jeep. Not worth the money at all.
