Reviews for Fox® Racing Shox 983-02-148 Factory Race Series 2.0 ATS Steering Stabilizer for 18-23 Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT
Made a huge improvement in the steering quality/stability with 35"s and a 3.5" lift. Currently driving on setting 23 of 25. For the bracket installation, install the two front bolts first. For the bottom bolt it may be necessary to tweak the bracket in that area with vice grips to get it aligned with the hole on the axle. For the tie rod bracket, if you turn the wheel all the way to the right the tie rod bracket bolt can be accessed easier.
Installed on my 2020 Mojave. Easy, straightforward install. The difference in steering feel from stock stabilizer is night and day. Great product.
Bracket sucks as it does not fit quite right. I had to drill mine a bit but the product is so excellent it makes up for all the extra hassle in installation.
Fit like a glove bracket fit right into place. Really could feel the difference even on a brand new 2020 JL with factory 2'' lift. Very happy with fit and finish also.
Really help the JL stop wandering at highway speed.
I installed this Fox steering stabilizer along my JKS lift w/ Fox Shocks. I don't know if its the stabilizer or a mixture of all the upgrades, but my Jeep rides much better then stock now. Can't go wrong w/ Fox. The nice thing is that it can be adjusted if you have a specific steering tightness you are looking for.
I rate it 5 stars for performance, 3 stars for installation. This should be a very easy install, but I ran into both the poor fitting axle bracket (needs bending) and the bolt redesign on the eyelet end. Once installed on my Rubicon 4xe, it is easily adjusts damping to whatever I want.
I installed it today. I put 4 stars, because like another comment I had to twist the plate so that the three bolts could be aimed. Fortunately I had a big pliers that didn't have a "car workshop", I thank myself for buying it many years ago, without this saving tool I wouldn't have been able to finish my installation. In addition, my Jeep was lying on the ground and I was lying as best I could underneath. In short, given the price, I don't understand why such a misadventure can happen to us.
Added after a 2" Mopar lift. Definitely improved the steering wheel vibrations. Only a 4* because I had to bend the bracket to get all 3 holes to line up during install..
Same experience as others. Glad you all pointed out the bolt issue as I was prepared for that by ordering the suggested replacement. The bracket did not line up easily and took a lot of work to get it to work. Love the feel of the steering after a painful install.
