Reviews for Quadratec 3" LED Backup Light Kit for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
So far so good. Install straight forward. Note - I was able to install along with my Quadratec aluminum muffler skid. The light bracket simply replaced the spacer that was part of the install between the skid and the frame rail (see photo).
Coating flaked off lights after a year of use, and received crickets when reaching out to support about the issue (3yr warranty advertised). Otherwise the brackets and overall kit is well made and thoughtful for the application.
I wanted to give this product 5 stars however I can’t In good conscious..when working they are amazing the light output is great and visibility backing up at night is 100 times better than any taillight factory or aftermarket .. the issue in my case is the wiring harness.. for some reason I don’t believe this product was meant for aftermarket taillights … I have tried two diff brands of lights and both came with diff issues.. the first was the dreaded hyper blink when the turn signal was on .. I was also getting the display on dash that stated I had taillight out even when On … the second set of taillights had me very optimistic until I put car in reverse and noticed the driver side reverse lights were not on … thinking it was taillight issue I disconnected harness which in itself was a task the connection between harness and taillight is very tight I needed channel locks and hard pull to get it off … when I plugged light back into the factory plug taillights worked perfectly…kinda sucks cause this when working is a 5 star product but like a fellow reviewer I believe that they need to make harness that is made for LED taillights with built in resistors … with so many mods sold for jeep you would think it would be understood that anyone buying this probably already upgraded from the ugly factory taillights and headlights … I inquired about some help hopefully this purchase doesn’t go to waste …
Lights are great and put out enough light. Problem is that when the are hooked up with the trailering harness, the stock left side reverse light does not come on. Made a call to quadratec and was told that they will not work with the trailer harness. Hmm, the aftermarket lights work and the right side stock reverse light works but not the left. Hmm, seems to me that someone did not wire the harness correctly. So no help with it other than I was told to unplug the trailer harness until I need to hook up a trailer. Then take the tail light off and hook it up. Seems like a lot of work to do for someone else’s mistake. I am going to take them off and return them. If they are plug and play then they should be plug and play. Oh by the way, the trailer harness came from quadratec also. So, if you don’t mind your left stock backup light not working, they are an easy and quick way to add some more lighting while backing up. Me, if I have the light on the vehicle, it should work.
