Reviews for OMIX Soft Top Door Surround for 97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ
I had originally ordered the master top door surround kit and the driver side door surround was improperly manufactured. I admit I was a little upset and left a review on that paet before I got to talk to anybody. I called first thing Monday morning and customer service said they were sending this part to me and it should arrive Wednesday. Well, here it is, Tuesday, and the paet has already arrived and popped right on. Installation was tight, but it aint going nowhere. Seems to be great quality.
Great product
Seems to be exactly what I need
Great fit and quality
For the price these are great, the finish on them was good and they shipped on time. They fit pretty well and I had no issue with installing them. Just note these do not come with the screws to install them. You etiher have to buy them seperately or just go to hardware store its a lot cheaper that way. Overall these are good for the price its one of the cheapest options for door surrounds I could find.
A little tough to install the first time but I expect it will get easier as they age a bit.
These Surrounds fit fine right up to the point that you put the screws in to secure them to the roll bar. I am having the same problem as others in this post. The rear screw went in fine but the front screw would not thread. I found that if I used a Phillips screw drive from the bottom to line up the holes then quickly thread the screw from the top it will work. I only found this out after stripping on of the surrounds bottom threads. It shouldn't be this hard.
I had the same problem as Paul H did on my 05 TJ. The front bolt on the passenger side would not thread into the bottom threads. Never got it to go in so it is on using just the back bolt for now.
I purchased an 04 Jeep TJ that have no top with it. I decided to go with a fatback soft top and needed the door surrounds. I purchased these and No offense to Quadretec but these are made incorrectly. The holes for the mounding screws do not line up. The part that clamps to the roll bar is too small, so when you put the screw in the top it doesn't;t line up below. I had to widen the hole on the top of the surround to allow additional angle to get the screws in. Something that should have taken 2 minutes had taken over an hour of frustration.
