This process is capable of being done alone with the proper tools, but it is best to employe the services of an associate.
Step 1: With the vehicle secure, and tires removed, start at the farthest wheel from the Master Cylinder. For the standard Left Hand Drive vehicle, the starting point is the Passenger rear wheel.
Step 2: With the help of an associate, pump the pedal 3-4 times and hold the pedal down after the last pump.
Step 3: Open the bleeder valve on the wheel cylinder (drum brakes) or brake caliper (rotor brakes) to move the fluid through the lines. Close the valve before the brake pedal is release.
Step 4: Pump the pedal up and hold as step 2 described, and repeat step 3. Check your brake fluid level in the master cylinder and repeat the process until a good stream of brake fluid is released from the bleeder valve.
Step 5: Move to the Driver's Rear Wheel and repeat steps 2 thru 4.
Step 6: Move to the Passenger Front Wheel and repeat steps 2 thru 4.
Step 7: Move to the Drivers Front Wheel and repeat steps 2 thru 4.
