Dust. Dirt. Mud. Sun. Rain. They may all be fun to play in from time to time, but none of those things are particularly friendly with the seats inside your Jeep.

And yet these are the very things we subject our seats to each time we remove that hard or soft top to enjoy an open-air driving experience.

Whether it is mud splatter that gets inside during a weekend adventure, snow or slush on your clothes, or the sun beating down while that top is off for weeks at a time. Perhaps even a pop-up overnight shower soaking the interior. Things happen. And these things can have long-term consequences for your Jeep seats.

So a good set of covers is usually a solid investment in order to help protect those seats while also adding some additional comfort and style.

Now, none of that stuff I mentioned before will instantly destroy your Jeep seats. They certainly won’t disintegrate because of some water or mud, but it is important to get them clean or dry when this happens to prevent additional or lasting damage. Keeping them clean and in good shape is definitely an uphill battle without something around for protection.

I don't know about you, but I would much rather remove a dirty or soggy seat cover and toss it in the washing machine, versus having to crane my body into strange positions trying to clean the seats while installed. Plus, it is not just mud or rain getting deep into seat fibers, but pollen from plants and trees as well. So putting protective covers on those seats is a solid first line of defense.

Another pesky element that damages Jeep seats is the sun. We all know driving around with the top down or off during warmer weather is one of the best parts about owning a Wrangler and while this is a fun perk, it normally leads to seat damage over time. That’s because the sun’s UV rays can weaken threads and fade color whenever they have access to your seats.

Think about it.

It is the same way with your skin, and you (hopefully) use sunscreen every time your plans include a lot of outdoor time. So imagine those Jeep Seat Covers as the sunscreen that protects your seats — especially if you leave your top off the Jeep for long periods of time.

Seat covers come in a wide variety of colors, fabrics and styles that provide a fit for virtually any budget out there, but one of the most popular versions right now is neoprene. This soft, cushiony wetsuit-style material absorbs water and keeps it off your seats. Additionally, that material helps regulate seat temperature — keeping it warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. Plus, if you want to change the color of your Wrangler seats to match or accent anything on the vehicle, then seat covers are a great way to accomplish that goal.

Other seat cover materials include vinyl, ballistic nylon, polycotton and cloth, with each offering different levels of protection, secure fitment and durability — giving you plenty of choices as to how you will keep your Jeep seats in top shape.
