The Red Rock 4-Wheelers’ Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah, attracts 4x4 enthusiasts from around the globe. For the last six years, Quadratec has shown their support for the Safari by putting on a BBQ that’s also a vehicle show and get-together for jeeping friends. On Tuesday night, 31 March 2015, the Moab Red Devils High School football field was transformed into a venue that featured outstanding food, fun, vendors, and Jeeps that ranged from mild to wild. The event was catered by the crew from the Red Cliffs Lodge. The Red Devils football team opened their stadium for a nominal fee, but Quadratec does more to show their appreciation. Each year, they donate a sizeable amount to support the team. The 2015 event was the biggest so far and just under 2,000 dinners were served – all for no charge to members of the Red Rock 4-Wheelers and those who preregistered for the Safari . As I was usually still on the trail, I had never attended a Quadratec BBQ before. This year, I was able to return to town in time. The food was good and being able to connect with friends I hadn’t seen for years was fantastic. As mentioned, the built Jeeps ranged from mild to wild and it’s always fun to see how others build their vehicles. Vendors showed off their latest creations and were ready to answer questions. A group of vintage Jeeps included Ned Bacon’s Killer Bee flatty sporting fresh new rear bodywork. Ned had just completed his around-the-world trip and hurried to Moab for the Quadratec BBQ! Quadratec is one of the largest suppliers of Jeep parts on the planet. It’s excellent to see them giving back in a way that not only benefits many, but is a lot of fun, too. Let’s get together at the BBQ next year to celebrate the 50th Easter Jeep Safari!
