Chalk up another Jeep event that has been, sadly, canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation.
Organizers of the Jeep Beach event in Daytona Beach, Florida, Tuesday announced the event would not go on as scheduled April 20-26.
"This decision, while difficult, is based on the facts, guidelines and recommendations available at this time regarding the evolving COVID-19 situation in the U.S.," the Board of Directors for Jeep Beach said in a statement.
They added that Jeep Beach's primary purpose is to raise money to serve the community, and they understand the disappointment felt by all, but see it as the responsible decision to make.
While Jeep Beach is canceled in April, the Board of Directors did say they are evaluating other dates for the event later this year.
All those who have pre-registered for Jeep Beach will have their registration changed to either the later 2020 rescheduled time, or the 2021 date.
The popular Jeep Beach was scheduled just two weeks after Moab, Utah's Easter Jeep Safari. That event's organizers—Red Rock 4-Wheelers—announced Tuesday night they were canceling EJS as well.
