The temperature is dropping and the leaves are beginning to change color here in the Northeastern US. It's getting close to Halloween, and in the automotive world, that can only mean one thing. No, not that the dead will rise from their grave to wander the Earth looking for brains, but that it's time for the annual Specialty Equipment Market Association's annual show, otherwise simply known as SEMA! Every fall we travel to Fabulous Las Vegas and head to the massive convention center where aftermarket parts and accessories manufacturers gather to show off their latest and greatest for the upcoming year. On second thought, after a few long days wandering the convention center hallways, it's not uncommon to feel like a mindless zombie wandering around looking at all the new goodies. Anyhow, it's our chance to find and bring to you the hottest new products for the Quadratec Essentials catalogs and for Quadratec.com. The major automotive manufacturers also show up with their coolest customized creations to really show of the potential of their vehicles and of course Jeep® has pretty good track record for taking home the Hottest 4x4-SUV award for the Jeep Wrangler, and for good reason. We don't expect this year to be any different, and recently Mopar gave us a sneak preview for some of the vehicles we can expect to see in their over 15,000 square-feet of show space, along with a large assortment of Mopar performance parts and accessories on November 4-7. The handful of artist renderings and sketches hint at performance modifications and limited edition vehicles from Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge, Ram and Fiat this year. While the sketches of the Dodge Poison Dart R/T, and Fiat Abarth Scorpion look exciting, and who could look past the Dodge Viper ACR Concept profile, our attention was focused on two new Jeep® Renegade models. No specifications were given with the renderings, but we can always speculate of course. First off, the Jeep® Renegade Trailhawk Frostbite. If past models are any indication, specifically the Wrangler Polar and Arctic editions, we can expect some special icy-cold badging and frosty colors to clad the Renegade Frostbite. It is listed as a Trailhawk model as well, so maybe we can hope for some suspension modifications to round out the package! The second is the Renegade Limited Rip Tide. Perhaps a nod the the Wrangler Islander edition, again we expect to see some sort of surfing themed color scheme and special badging. That's all we've got for now. Stay tuned for more details during our coverage of the SEMA show November 4-7.
