If you have ever made the early June trek to Western Pennsylvania's Cooper’s Lake Campground for the Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival, then you know the sprawling open area about 45 minutes north of Pittsburgh is full of event entertainment.

Things like trail rides, mud pits, obstacle course, Barbie Jeep races, military Jeep history, the Jeep team challenge, Best of Bantam Show and Shine, and plenty of Jeep vendors. Not to mention a Friday Jeep parade and ‘invasion’ of nearby Butler, Pennsylvania—the original home of Jeep.

Well, for this year’s 10th anniversary, the folks running Bantam decided all that stuff was nice, but something was still missing from the overall event.

Something like the chance to win a Scrambler.

And now you can.

Specifically, it is a restored 1981 Scrambler built by the Friends of Bantam Jeep Association, and modded up with parts from several event sponsors including Quadratec, Omix, BFGoodrich and Throttle Down Kustoms.

Only 2,000 tickets are available for the raffle, and they go for $25 a ticket. Organizers will draw a winner Saturday, June 13th, and the winner does not need to be present to claim the Scrambler.

But it would be nice if he, or she, were around.

Some of the restored Scrambler features include:

  • In-line 6-cylinder engine
  • 4-speed manual transmission
  • 4:11 gears
  • BF Goodrich K02 Tires
  • Powder coated custom bumpers
  • Skyjacker Lift & Suspension
  • Scout Dana 44 axles
  • Front and rear power disc brakes
  • Drum rear
  • Power steering
  • Bucket seats
  • Black bed coating

For other details, rules and how to order raffle tickets, check out the Bantam 10th Anniversary Raffle page.

In all, Jeep produced just under 28,000 Scramblers during the vehicle’s six year (1981-86) run. And while the CJ8 never really took off during its original lifetime, the thing has evolved into something of an ‘in-demand’ classic over the past several years.

Which makes this raffle the perfect chance to pick up a restored version sure to make you the envy of your friends, Jeep club, neighborhood or trail group.

This year’s Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival is set for June 12-14.
